I'm excited about getting my website up and running. Specials thanks to Leontine from Lionsites Web Design. She has been fun to work with and has been patient with my very full schedule where priorities change day-to-day, and at times even moment-to-moment. And as a bonus, I believe I have made a new friend in the process!

The Healing Adventure opened in November 2004, and as we are headed toward our 3rd anniversary, I am so pleased to be able to add my website to the tools available to those interested in learning more about natural, healthy ways to manage their health challenges and realize improved health and longevity.

Because modern, western medicine has bombarded our lives and senses for the past 100 years, or so, we need to re-educate ourselves, re-program our intuition, and tune-out most of what is being shoved down our throats by corporate medicine and Big Pharma. Their rhetoric is literally killing us. None of us like to think that corporate medicine, pharmaeutical companies, the FDA, the government, and many so-called charitable organizations don't have our best interest in mind, but the evidence is overwhelming that their first priority is to business and making more money, not our health and well-being. I don't want to paint all doctors with the same brush, there are some very good ones out there who truly do care, and if given the choice, would choose to offer natural health approaches in conjunction with modern, western medicine. But they usually do not have that choice. Corporate medicine also has them in their clutches.

We need to take responsibility for our own health and that of our family. To do this, we must educate ourselves so we know what our health care options are. Once you know your options, then decide what makes the most sense for your situation. But, IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOUR OPTIONS ARE, YOU DON'T HAVE ANY!-- and you are at the mercy of corporate medicine and the pharmaceutical companies. Knowledge is power. With both, you are able to stand your ground and not be intimidated by a medical system who falsely claim that only their medicine is the right medicine and everyone else is a quack. A medical system that clumps everyone into disease categories, cuts out "unnecessary" body parts, makes assumptions about you as an individual based on a broad overview of symptons, and then writes seemingly indescriminate numbers of prescriptions to treat the symptoms -- NOT THE INDIVIDUAL.

Natural approaches to health have been around since the beginning of time. It only makes sense for me to place my faith in a healing system that places healing herbs in our fields and lawns; puts strengthening vitamins and minerals in plants and soil; works synergistically with our body systems; and is available to everyone -- not just those with great health insurance and a big bank balance. Health and a healthy lifestyle are available, you just need to know where to look. That is what I'm here to do. At The Healing Adventure, you will find someone you can ask questions, someone who can direct you to some great health information sources, someone who can assist you in identifying what is a good product and what is junk, someone who strives to live a natural health lifestyle, someone who has spent 20+ years learning, experimenting, and sharing that experience with others.

Many of the people who have visited my store over the past 2 1/2 years are people who are just beginning to explore natural health. My newsletter has proven itself as a good tool to reach even more people, and now it is my hope this website will reach further out into the community to help educate many more people searching for natural health solutions.
